Nitona! (welcome) to our website!

If you come in wlakamigen (peace), nitona . . . .

We, the Koasek (Cowasuck) Traditional Band of the Sovereign Abenaki Nation, trace the origin of our tribe back over 180 years. The Abenaki Nation has inhabited our land for over 10,000 years.

Our home land is N’dakinna, which incorporates eastern Canada, and what are now known as the New England States. Our tribal band originated in what is now called Vermont. However, our families traveled all of N’dakinna and called the entire area home. We had no borders and even today, we don’t recognize the borders. N’dakinna is our homeland.

Visit the many pages on our website to learn about our history, our language, our customs, our upcoming events, and so much more. Get to know us.

If you are of American Indian descent from N’dakinna, please visit our genealogy page and then our enrollment page to become a member of The Koasek Traditional Band of the Sovereign Abenaki Nation.
